Swiss international Noelle Maritz makes move to Aston Villa Women

Aston Villa have signed Switzerland international defender Noelle Maritz from Arsenal on a two-and-a-half year deal, with the option of a further year.

The 28-year-old previous had spells with FC Zürich and VfL Wolfsburg, playing over 100 times for the latter with whom she won the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

Maritz also has more than a century of appearances for Switzerland, including three World Cups.

Manager Carla Ward told avfc.co.uk: “We’re delighted to welcome Noelle to the club.”

“She comes with a wealth of experience at the highest level having played in the Champions League as well as winning trophies wherever she’s been,”
