#SWFL1: Dunfermline Athletic Ladies & Glasgow City Development lead

Dunfermline Athletic and Glasgow City Development lead Scottish Women’s League Division 1 North and South respectively after the third week of fixtures.

SWFL 1 North – Four stay on top form

Dunfermline Athletic are one of four sides on maximum points from three games and they lead on goals scored after netting ten at Raith Rovers where Katie Bennett claimed a hat-trick, while Aberdeen defeated East Fife 7-0 as midfielder Chloe Gover scored four.

Kristy Scott bagged a brace as Kelty Hearts put five past Deveronvale and Buchan beat Stonehaven 3-1. Montrose sunk Westdyke 7-1 to get off the mark and Cove Rangers were 3-1 winners over Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

SWFL 1 South – Three in a row for City & Celtic

After three rounds of games there are two teams left with 100% records, Glasgow City Development lead after a 1-0 result at Blackburn United and Celtic Academy in second matched that scoreline at FC Kimarnock U-23s.

Hibernian U-23s thrashed Ayr United 14-1 to go third as Amy Hay top scored with four, Queens Park shared six goals with Renfrew, Rangers Development ran out 5-2 winners at Hamilton Academical U-23s and Boroughmuir Thistle finished 2-2 with Spartans Development.

Stenhousemuir went top of 2 South East / Central with a 5-1 success at Musselburgh Windsor.

2 West / South West leaders Rutherglen dropped their first points in a 1-1 tie at Stewarton United who moved into second place.

Glasgow Girls U-23s went clear in 2 West / Central after a 2-0 victory at St Mirren and Pollok United’s 8-1 result at BSC Glasgow pushed them into second spot.

Buchan Youth just made it a third straight win in 2 North / East by 4-3 against Dunfermline Athletic U-21s and they lead from Jeanfield Swifts (3-0 winners over Westdyke Thistle) and Dryburgh Athletic who hit East Fife Development 6-1.

The new league kicks off on Saturday 16 March when Nairn take on Lewis & Harris at Nairn Showfield at 1pm. Sunday’s fixtures see Caithness versus Brora Rangers at Sir Georges Park (2pm), Buckie against Kirkwall City at Brora Community Centre (12:00) and Clachnacuddin clash with Inverness Caledonian Thistle at Grant Street Park (kick off 2pm).
