#SWFL1 : Buchan & Cumbernauld claim notable wins

Buchan belied their position in Scottish League Division 1 North by defeating third-placed Inverness City,  Cumbernauld Colts came from two goals down to go third in the South, while the top two were both held.

SWFL 1 NORTH : Buchan beat third-placed Inverness

Undefeated East Fife stayed 5 points clear with an 8-0 win over Cove Rangers, as title rivals Dundee United thrashed hosts Stirling University Development 17-0.

Buchan went eighth with an impressive 2-1 victory at third-placed Inverness City.

Raith did well to get a point from a goalless draw at fourth in the table Aberdeen U-23s. It was Rovers first 0-0 result in three seasons.

Westdyke are within four points of Dunfermline Athletic, whom they beat 7-3 away with the help of a Duncan hat-trick.

Basement side Dee Ladies went down 4-1 at home to Deveronvale.

SWFL 1 SOUTH : Four-goal Watt leads Cumbernauld come back

Hibs U-23 were denied victory for only the second time in 14 games, as mid-table Thistle Weir held them 0-0.

Celtic Academy missed the chance to go top, as they had to settle for a 2-2 draw with visitors Queens Park.

Cumbernauld Colts climbed to third when winning a nine-goal thriller at Blackburn United. Cheryl Watt’s four-goal haul helped the Colts fightback from 4-2 down, while Blackburn suffered a couple of late injuries.

Boroughmuir Thistle beat Westerlands 3-1 to leapfrog them into eighth position.

Morton only lost by a single goal at Renfrew, despite 12 defeats in their previous 13 outings, while Rangers Development ran out 6-2 winners at bottom side Falkirk.

The top four in SWFL 2 Central all banked three points, leaders Airdrie winning 4-0 at Hamilton Academical U-23s. Glasgow Girls DS remain 3 points behind with a 2-0 result at Stenhousemuir and Glasgow City DS are a point further back with games in hand after netting nine against Hawick United. Motherwell DS were restricted a 2-0 scoreline by West Park United, while Murieston United scored all three goals in the game at Broxburn Athletic.

SWFL 2 East top team Spartans Development sunk their counterparts from Jeanfield Swifts 7-0 but Kelty Hearts kept up the pressure with 7 goals of their own at East Fife Violets, who scored twice themselves. Third-placed Edinburgh Caledonia ran in 19 goals at Lothian and Dundee City defeated Hearts 4-0.

Stonehaven went 3 points clear of Montrose at the top on SWFL 2 North by edging Forfar Farmington DS 3-2. Moray closed in the second-placed side with a narrow 2-1 victory over Turriff United. Buchan Youth were beaten 3-2 at home by Ross County and Buckie’s 2-1 result at Caithness got them off the bottom at their hosts expense.

Kilmarnock U-23 replaced Ayr United as leaders in SWFL 2 West with a 2-1 defeat of Pollok United. United Glasgow are level on points with Ayr having hit hosts Kilwinning 6-1. Rutherglen are eighth on goal-difference after sending Gleniffer Thistle to a twelfth successive loss.
