Republic of Ireland international, Stephanie Roche, has ended over a year out of action with a broken leg by joining Serie A side Florentia.
Roche suffered the fracture in a World Cup qualifier against Northern Ireland in September 2017 and her contract with Sunderland ran out this August.
The move to the fifth-placed top flight Italian side came despite offers from clubs in England, Spain and France.
Delighted to announce that I’ve signed for @cfflorentia. A very ambitious club with a great work ethic and some excellent individual players. The team have started the season well and I can’t wait to get involved and contribute for the rest of the season!! #SerieA #Florentia pic.twitter.com/OCUOjDPZUL
