Watford will make their first ever trip abroad when travelling to Florence for a four-day training camp from 8-11 September.
CF Florentia, recently promoted to Serie-B, will provide one of two friendly matches for the Golden Girls.
Head-Coach Keith Boanas highlighted the importance of a pre-season trip as he continues to build his squad ahead of the new campaign.
“Simply travelling together and being in a different environment helps greatly with team bonding and camaraderie,” explained Boanas to watford.fawsl.com.
“The opportunity to play foreign opposition is always a fresh challenge, and we are fortunate enough to be playing a very decent Italian side. My experience of the Italian National team tells me it will be a great experience for our players, especially the vast majority who have not had International experience of any sorts.
“Of course we have one or two that have, and they can certainly help the other players with advice and adjusting to that different cultural challenge.”
Pre-season friendlies commence tomorrow (16 July) for Watford as they take on Stevenage in a double-header at the Herts FA ground in Letchworth, with games starting at 12:00 and then the first teams at 3pm.
