Three top level FAWNL teams went out to lower division sides, as Leeds United eliminated Doncaster Rovers Belles after extra time, AFC Wimbledon put out Portsmouth and Keynsham Town had a big win over C&K Basildon.

Leeds edged a Yorkshire derby with Doncaster in a seven-goal thriller that went to 120 minutes. Rebecca Hunt got two goals for the hosts and Katie Thompson the decider but the win was marred by a broken leg for United’s Bridie Hannon.

AFC Wimbledon accounted for Portsmouth with Caroline Bisson’s first-half effort added to by Georgia Heasman after the break.

Keynsham ran out 8-3 winners over C&K Basildon, Kerry Bartlett to the fore with a four-goal haul.

Fylde had a good 3-1 success away at Sunderland, Danielle Young setting them on their way with a 25-yard free kick.

Luton made hosts Billericay work for their win, which came 3-1 after extra-time. Aurora Ryan got through to score the opener for the Hatters, Broghan Kelly got the pic of the goals with a 25-yard chip.

Stockport County kept Middlesbrough to just a single-goal victory with Eleanor Dale’s 70th-minute effort,  Chester-Le-Street lost 2-0 to Stoke for whom Tash Tezgel and Faye McCoy got the goals.

Coventry went through 2-1 against Plymouth, Amy Wathan netting the winner, Ash Edwards scored all three goals for Nottingham Forest as they came from behind to win 3-2 at Sheffield FC.

Loughborough Foxes saw off Gillingham 3-1 with an extra-time double from Rebecca Knight, Derby got a 2-0 result at Guiseley where Nikki Ledgister and Steph Smith found the net.

Oxford United scored four against Cambridge United, as did Blackburn at Wolves and Cardiff in the second half past QPR, while Southampton FC Women bowed out by a similar score at MK Dons.

Hull hit five at Long Eaton, Kate Mallin hit a first-half hat-trick as Huddersfield thrashed Bradford 7-1.

Tickets for this season’s Final, which will takes place on Saturday 4 May 2019, are already on sale priced £15 for adults while kids go free.
