Hamilton Academical came from behind to beat Rangers 3-1 after extra-time in the SSE Scottish Women’s Cup 2nd Round, while Stirling University saw off SWPL 2 side Kilmarnock in the second half.

Glasgow City were two goals to the good by half time at Forfar Farmington, Leanne Ross netting one free kick and delivering a second for Abbi Grant to head home. Grant later got her second as City won the all-top flight clash 3-0.
Another SWPL 1 pair, Hamilton Academical and Rangers, played out a goalless first 45 minutes but there was late drama in the second period. Hayley Sinclair got a goal for the Gers on 84 minutes but the Accies levelled through Gill Inglis to force extra-time. Hamilton then went in front for the first time with an Inglis penalty and wrapped it up with her hat-trick goal.
Kilmarnock did well to hold higher division hosts Stirling University to a goalless first half but eventually bowed out 4-1. Kim Guthrie and Demi Falconer scored in the first 4 minutes after the restart but Killie halved the deficit midway through the half from a Lauren Sloan header. Goals from Eva Rule and Jenna Godfrey then secured the students progress.
Edinburgh Caledonia came out on top in the goalfest with Queens Park, winning 6-4 having trailed 2-0. Kirsty Compston got a couple, with Jane MacRae and Emma O’Sullivan also among the scorers for Caley.
Amy Gallacher opened the scoring for holders Hibernian at underdogs Thistle Weir, Shannon McGregor making it 2-0 by the halfway point. Hibs hit five in the second half, Abi Harrison with a quickfire double, Jamie-Lee Napier, Cailin Michie and Emma Brownlie contributing singles.
Spartans’ 5-1 success at Inverness City included a Zoe Johnstone brace, with Rachel Walkingshaw and Alana Marshall also on the scoresheet for the visitors.
St Johnstone let a 3-0 lead slip at Dunfermline Athletic but responded by scoring three more times for a 6-3 away victory. Rachel Todd and Hannah Clark got two goals each, with Jade McDonald and Ellie-May Cowie also on target for the Saints.
Kelty Hearts came through 4-1 at Dundee City, Sammi Connell bagging a brace, Fiona Gibson and Alina Finlay one each, while Ashley Primrose scored for the hosts.
Hearts went in front after 24 minutes at Glasgow Girls but Lauren Evans equalised shortly before the break. However, Hearts struck three times in a ten-minute spell late in the tie before completing the scoring at 5-1.
East Fife were another side to battle back and win. One-nil down at half time, they still managed a 2-1 win over Westerlands.
Motherwell scored four in the first half past Cumbernauld Colts, Suzanne Mulvey with two, Hayley Cunningham and Caitlin Russell one each. Sammy Hare made it 5-0, Cheryl Watt pulled one back but Russell replied with her second, Megan Burns made it 7-1 and then Mulvey completed her treble.
Renfrew were top scorers in the round with a dozen goals at Dee Ladies. Natalie O’Neill netting four of them. There were hat-tricks for SammyJo Smith and Claire Rae (the latter now on 101 goals for her club), plus singles from Lindsay Fitzpatrick and Karen Bailie.
Edinburgh University Hutchison Vale hit Hawick United 7-0 and were five up at the interval. Anna Hume scored two and made the opener for Ashley Fish, Anna Murray converted a penalty and Lucy Brown netted on half time. Katherine Smart and Beth MacLeod added one apiece in the last 20 minutes.
Unfortunately for the competition there were three walkovers, with Aberdeen, Celtic and Dundee United gifted places in the last sixteen.
