Southampton FC Women have signed 26-year-old Jamaica international forward Atlanta Primus from London City Lionesses.

The former Chelsea and California State University player made 58 appearances for London City and was capped up to U-19 level by England before opting instead to play for the Reggae Girlz.

Primus told southamptonfc.com: “I’m super excited to be here! I’m ready to get going and excited for the season to start.

“From the staff to the players, I think there’s something special here and I wanted to be a part of that.”

Head coach Marieanne Spacey-Cale said: “I’m delighted to get Atlanta into our squad. She brings a strong attacking threat along with a clever football mind.

“Fresh from the World Cup those experiences have added to her development into a top player.”
