Six-goal Swifts to contest NIWFA Championship Cup Final

Six-goal semi-finalists Sion Swifts and St James Swifts are to meet in the Northern Ireland Women’s FA Championship Cup Final.

St James Swifts hit Ballymena United Women for six after going in four up at the break. Sion Swifts were 6-1 winners over Belfast Celtic, as Rachel Barnaby netted four of her own.

In the Division 1 Cup, Ambassadors Lucy Redmond levelled at home to Ballymoney United Ladies, who had led through Cleo-Neece Taggart.  Greenisland play Ballnahinch in the second semi-final on 26 July.

Ellie Tennyson got both goals for Lisburn Swifts as they eliminated Strabane Athletic from the Division 2 Cup. Craigavon City beat Banbridge Town 4-1 in Friday’s last-four clash.

Lisbellaw United reached the Division 3 final with a 3-1 win at Maiden City, Sasha Funston and Anna Magolan among the goals despite Caoili Bradley giving the hosts the lead. Belfast Ravens made the final with a 2-0 victory at Carrick Rangers Falcons, where Joanne Corr and Hazel Jordan got first-half goals.

Antrim Town went through 2-1 at Belfast Swifts in the Division 4 semi-finals, Ashleigh Thompson and Anna McBride their scorers. Belfast Ravens Reserves play Raceview in the second semi on 24 July.

Allie Hamilton got all three goals of the game as Ards Rangers went through to the Division 5 final at St Mary’s. They will now meet Valley Rangers, who overcame Comber Res Reserves 10-4 led by a Caitlin Rae double hat-trick.

Greenisland Reserves went through 5-2 at Wellington Rec, Bloomfield went one better with a 6-2 result at 1st Bangor.
