Sheffield United have signed experienced Barclays Women’s Championship goalkeeper Sian Rogers from Charlton Athletic.
She helped the Addicks to a second-placed finish last season, her second campaign with the south London side.
Having come through the ranks at Wolves and Birmingham City, Rogers joined Aston Villa where she made her first team debut as a teenager during the 2017-18 season.
A former England youth team goalkeeper, Rogers won the Championship’s Golden Glove award as Villa won promotion during the 2019-20 campaign, playing several WSL matches before joining Charlton on loan in 2022, eventually making the move permanent last summer.
Rogers said of the move: “I’m really excited. It’s a team I know a lot about and something I really wanted to be a part of and I’m just really excited to get going now.
“Every game against the team has been a tough game and you always knew it would be, it’s a team that works hard for each other. It’s a fresh start for me, I’m proud of what I’ve done, but I know I can do more and I want to bring those experiences in here.”
