Sion Swifts completed a league and cup double in the NIWFA Championship, while Valley Rangers did likewise in Division 5.

Having secured the Championship top spot and an immediate return to the Sports Direct Women’s Premiership, Sion Swifts did the double with a 3-2 win over runners-up St James Swifts in the divisional cup final.

Caoimhne Heron and Amy Boyle netted for Sion but St James hit back through Chloe Tully and Chloe Doak. Hannah Gibson then restored Sion’s advantage with an 89th-minute decider.


Valley Rangers defeated Ards Rangers 3-1 in the Division 5 Cup final. Catlin Rea bagged a brace before Shannon McCullough replied, with Grace McBride getting Valley’s third.

Next up is the NIWFA Super Cup Final on Saturday 14 September, 7.30pm kick off at the Blanchflower Stadium, where Greenisland play Ballymoney United Ladies.
