Sheffield United Women have added Manchester United midfielder Mollie Green to their squad on loan for the rest of the season.
The 22-year-old arrives off the back of helping Casey Stoney’s side earn promotion from the FA Women’s Championship last season, where Green’s impressive 13 goals from midfield were pivotal in her team’s success.
Green previously played in the FA Women’s Super League for both Liverpool and Everton as a youngster before joining Man United for the start of their first season in the Championship.
A former England youth team player, Green joins Aimee Palmer as the second player to join on loan from Man United this season, the latter already impressing during the first half of the campaign.
Green commented: “I’m buzzing. It’s something I’ve wanted to do for a little while now so to get it over the line is something I’m delighted with. I want to get back on the pitch, show what I can do again and I think Sheffield United is a really good place to do that.”
Manager Carla Ward is also thrilled to be able to bring another quality player to the club ahead of a big second half of the season.
“Mollie is proven at this level and adds not only quality but professionalism and experience that’s needed in a run in, so we’re obviously delighted to have got this over the line.”
