Sheffield United Women’s long-standing midfielder Maddy Cusack has signed a new contract to move into her sixth season with the Blades.
Cusack initially joined the club midway through the 2018/19 campaign and has been a regular ever since, making her 100th appearance for United towards the end of last season.
The energetic midfielder leads in appearances since United came into the Barclays Women’s Championship in 2018 and has put pen-to-paper on another deal to continue her association with the club.
Speaking about staying at United ahead of the new season, Cusack said: “It feels amazing. Everyone knows how much I love this club; this club is my home and to extend my contract for another year, I’m really excited and really pleased.
“I’ve seen first-hand how the club has evolved from when I first arrived to all the changes this season and I’m really excited for the season ahead.
Head coach Jonathan Morgan, who also worked with Cusack at Leicester City, is pleased to sign up another key squad member.
Morgan said: “It’s great to have Maddy back again. She had such a strong end to last season. She’s come back in at peak fitness and hit the ground running in pre-season.
“She’s extremely strong and physical in the midfield, she has an eye for goal and I’m extremely pleased to see how she develops with us again this season.”
