Serbia send Wales U-19s to second defeat

Wales lost out 3-1 to Serbia this afternoon, in their UEFA U-19 Championship Elite Round qualifiers, played in Portugal.

Tijana Filipović opened the scoring 6 minutes before half time from outside the box.

Miljana Ivanović played in Allegra Poljak, who found the top corner to double the lead 11 minutes after the interval.

It was 3-0 after 65 minutes through Ivanović herself via a corner and Bronwen Thomas got a consolation after Cassia Pike had won possession.

Wales finish their fixtures against the hosts on Sunday, with only third place in the group at stake.

Wales U-19s: Olivia Clark, Gwennan Davies, Shaunna Jenkins, Amelia Ritchie, Amina Vine (C), Bronwen Thomas (Grace Horrell, 80), Chloe Chivers (Ellie Lake, 46), Lily Woodham, Tamsyn Sibanda, Cassia Pike, Emily Jones, (Lucia Carpanini, 63).

Unused Substitutes: Emma Gibbon, Ella Powell, Emily Poole, Shannon Dukes.
