Welsh international Angharad James has transferred from Tottenham Hotspur to National Women’s Soccer League side Seattle Reign.

The 29-year-old Wales centurion and midfielder turned full-back, spent one-and-a-half years with Spurs, making 44 appearances.

She started every WSL game before January, helping bring about the historic 1-0 victory over Arsenal.

Seattle Reign FC General Manager Lesle Gallimore told reignfc.com: “Haz James brings experience and depth to our team. Her international experience both for club and country, coupled with her previous time in the NWSL, give her an understanding of the environment and give the club another solid addition to our project. We can’t wait to have her with the group this season.”

Reign have signed a second Welsh international, with 23-year-old defender Lily Woodham joining through the 2025 NWSL season, with a one-year mutual option.

Gallimore continued: “Lily Woodham became a professional at a very young age. Joining Seattle Reign FC is a leap she felt she needed for her career and continued development, and we are thrilled to welcome Reading’s former captain to the club. Her game acumen is high, she is a quality defender and an attacking threat from the back. It will be fun to have her in the NWSL.”
