Scotland Women to play Brazil and Chile in Spain

Scotland players huddle during the International Friendly match at the Simple Digital Arena, Paisley

Scotland will continue their preparations for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup with games in Spain next month, as Shelley Kerr’s side take on Brazil and Chile at the Pinatar Arena in Murcia.

Fellow FIFA Women’s World Cup debutants Chile will be first on the agenda for Kerr’s side, with the two sides set to meet on Friday 5 April, reports scottishfa.co.uk.

Las Chicas de Rojo edged a seven-goal thriller in the only previous meeting with Scotland, with current SWNT squad members Jane Ross and Christie Murray on the scoresheet back in 2013.

Scotland will then remain in Pinatar for their second match of the trip, as Kerr’s squad take on Brazil for the first time since December 2013 on Monday 8 April.

Eleven of the Scotland players involved in that 2013 fixture are still part of the international setup six years on, including goalscorer Hayley Lauder and current captain Rachel Corsie.

Kick-off times for both matches are yet to be confirmed, while a home friendly will also be announced in the coming weeks.
