Nicola Docherty struck at the start of the second half, as Scotland beat Australia 1-0 in a friendly at AFC Wimbledon.

Martha Thomas had a couple of clear first-half opportunities for Scotland but fired one straight at Mackenzie Arnold and the other just over the angle.

Then just seconds after the restart, Docherty’s shot from outside the box flew past the keeper and in off the far post.

The woodwork then twice came to Scotland’s rescue, as Cortnee and Clare Hunt both hit the bar, while Mary Fowler was denied by Lee Gibson in between.

Gibson needed two attempts to deal with Hayley Raso’s drive, while Kirsty Hanson had an effort turned onto the top the net by Arnold.
