After a goalless first game, Scotland lost their UEFA Women’s Euros qualifying Play-Off 2nd leg 2-0 in Finland.
Pedro Martinez Losa’s side had a tough start as Nea Lehtola hit the crossbar and Sanni Franssi failed to convert the rebound, then in the eighth minute Natalia Kuikka was given space 25 yards out to fire home.
After a run of corners for Scotland, Finland went down the other end and an effort from Nehtola took a cruel deflection past goalkeeper Eartha Cummings to make it 2-0
Erin Cuthbert was unable to get a good opportunity on target, Martha Thomas saw her header tipped over by Tinja-Riikke Korpola and in first-half added time Scotland were denied a penalty after a handball in the box.
A couple of minutes after the interval Sam Kerr hit the post with the rebound going across the back of the keeper, who hit the back of her head on the upright in turning a Jenna Clark effort away.
The Finns cleared off the line in stoppage-time and despite 15 corners and 19 shots in all, Scotland were unable to get back into the tie.
