Glasgow City regained the Scottish Building Society SWPL 1 leadership from Hibernian with a 5-0 win away to Rangers on Thursday evening.

City had conceded top spot to Hibs only 24 hours earlier but their margin of victory put them back into pole position on goal-difference.

Abi Grant got the opener after linking up with Leanne Crichton in the 10th minute, two goals were added shortly before the interval by Hayley Lauder and a second for Grant.

Kirsty Howat made it 4-0 when heading home a free kick and Rangers’ Brogan Hay was denied an acrobatic goal back by the crossbar.

A Lauder free kick brought about the fifth and final goal and it was a first senior one for Carly Girasoli.

There are no league fixtures this Sunday, as it’s the SWPL Cup Final between Hibernian and Celtic at Falkirk Stadium. Kick off is 4.10pm, with live coverage on BBC ALBA.
