Regional League sides Harrogate Town, Knowle and Leafield Athletic all enjoyed County Cup progress at the expense of FAWNL visitors on Sunday 16 December.

North East League Harrogate Town spanned two divisions to beat FAWNL Northern Premier Bradford City 2-1 in the West Riding Cup. Sophie Tinson’s first-half brace proved enough, although Hannah Shuttleworth got one back for the Bantams with 10 minutes left. Harrogate now host Leeds United Reserves in the quarter-finals on 20th January.

West Midlands League title-chasers Leafield Athletic beat Bedworth United 6-3 in the Birmingham Cup 3rd Round, despite their visitors having a very strong debut campaign in the FAWNL Midlands Division 1. Sam Berry hit a hat-trick, Lily Eustace converted a penalty, with Georgia Harris and Amy Andrews also on target for Leafield.

Knowle met Solihull Moors with both struggling in their respective divisions but it was the former who won through to the Birmingham Cup quarter-finals. The tie was decided on penalties after the game ended deadlocked at 1-1.
