Regional Leagues: Three teams regain top spot

Moneyfields, Peterborough United and Queens Park Rangers hit top spot in their respective regional leagues on Sunday 10 November.

EASTERN – Wroxham recover to deny Bedford

PREMIER – Wroxham had to battle back from two down to rescue a point at home to Bedford, substitute Kirstie Kindred and Grace Birchall their scorers. Colney Heath’s Samaira Khan hit a hat-trick in their 6-1 win at AFC Dunstable which sent them second, while Royston Town are fourth following a 4-1 result at Haringey Borough.

ONE NORTH – Cambridge City Development went four points clear with a 2-1 win at Newmarket Town, Needham Market’s first victory came 3-1 against AFC Sudbury.

ONE SOUTH – Lawford got off the mark with a 1-1 draw againsr Leigh Ramblers, Stevenage Development netted sll four goals of the game at Wodson Park.

EAST MIDLANDS – Posh top

PREMIER – Peterborough United removed Rotherham United from first place with a 4-1 result at Leicester City Ladies, Oughtibridge WM ran out 5-0 winners at Loughborough Students and Ollerton Town leapfrogged Mansfield Town into fourth when beating them 3-1 away.

1 NORTH – Hykeham Town just held off Chesterfield 4-3 to move five points ahead of the rest, Lauren Churcher scored an injury-time decider after the Spireites had equalised despite losing Gina Camfield with a fractured fibula. Arnold Town are up to third after defeating second-placed Notts County Development 2-0, Arnold Eagles first points were won in style, 6-2 at Sleaford Town with a four-goal haul for Natasha Leach.

1 SOUTH – Loughborough Foxes Vixens put their first points on the board with a 3-1 victory over Thrapston Town.

LEAGUE CUP 1ST ROUND – Northampton Town dramatically scored two late goals to force extra-time against Rise Park and eventually go through 4-2.

LONDON & SOUTH EAST – Rangers regain leadership

PREMIER – QPR Girls Development took back top spot from Dulwich Hamlet when winning 2-1 at Dartford, Jennifer Moore clinching the three points in the 83rd-minute. Ashley Cheatley got both goals as Ashford Town (Middlesex) won 2-1 at Denham United, Aylesford defeated Eastbourne Town 2-1 for a first win and Saltdean United held hosts Fulham to a 1-1 draw.

GREATER LONDON PREMIER – New London Lionesses got the only goal at Clapham United to record a sixth win on the spin, Hackney went second with a 5-1 result at Victoire, Sutton United’s Faye Butler got three of their four goals at Godalming Town.

SOUTH EAST COUNTIES PREMIER – Worthing went second after becoming the first side to beat leaders Lewes Foundation with a 3-1 away success. Herne Bay beat Ashford 3-0 to go third, elsewhere it ended Parkwood Rangers 3-1 Crawley Wasps DS, Eastbourne United 2-0 Newhaven.

NORTH EAST LEAGUE – Pools see red but thrash leaders

PREMIER – Hartlepool United walloped top of the table Wallsend BC 8-2 despite a sending off for Jenni Duffy-Smith. Harrogate Town hit York City 8-0, Ossett United matched that scoreline in their first win over Ryton & Crawcrook Albion Tynedale, while Redcar Town saw off South Shields 3-1.

1 NORTH – Lumley’s Jennifer Ashton scored three times in a 4-1 win at Consett that put them third, while Blyth Town put five past Prudhoe Town.

1 SOUTH – Sheffield Wednesday are four goals behind leaders Bridlington Rovers following a 5-0 defeat of Hepworth United in which Jessica Morrison claimed all but one. It was the lowest score in the division though, with Wakefield Trinity 8-3 winners over Harrogate Railway and York Railway Institute 7-3 victors against Bradford Park Avenue.

NORTH WEST – Penrith lose ground after loss to Blackpool

PREMIER – The top tow both won, Tranmere Rovers 2-1 over West Didsbury & Chorlton, FC United of Manchester  5-0 against Sir Tom Finney. Merseyrail took the points 2-0 at Wigan Athletic for their first win, Fleetwood Town Wrens subjected Mossley Hill to a 4-1 reverse.

1 NORTH – Accrington Sports opened up a five-point lead with a 5-2 win over Workington Reds, second-placed Penrith went down 3-2 at Blackpool. Blackburn CSC netted eight against Penwortham Town, Carlisle United are up and running after a 5-1 win against Morecambe Reserves, while Leigh RMI saw off Accrington Stanley 3-1.

1 SOUTH – Salford City Lionesses edged Curzon Ashton 3-2 away to stretch their lead to six points, with Chester holding Warrington Wolverines 2-2, while Altrincham got an opening win 4-2 over Wythenshawe Amateurs.

SOUTHERN – Moneyfields take over from Cherries

PREMIER – Moneyfields edged into top spot on goal-difference as a Sophie Kingsley-Cabell goal was enough to beat Abingdon United. Winchester City Flyers had an imptressive 3-2 win at Newbury where Francesca Thornton scored twice, Oxford City were 5-1 winners at Ascot United, Woodley United went one better at home to Warsash Wasps.

ONE – Eastleigh are new leaders after netting a dozen at Alton with five for Samantha Hide and four by Catherine Browning, Abbey Rangers surrendering a 100% record and the first position in a 1-1 tie at Bournemouth Sports. Also ending 1-1 was Abingdon Town versus Wycombe Wanderers Development and Southampton Women’s Reserves v Tilehurst Panthers.

LEAGUE CUP 1ST ROUND – AFC Bournemouth might have lost their Premier Division leadership but stormed to an 11-0 win at New Milton Town.

SOUTH WEST – Wootton catch Callington

PREMIER – Wootton Bassett Town were four goals short of unseating leaders Callington Town in their 3-0 result at Bideford. Bishops Lydeard scored five against Torquay United, Keynsham Town Development and Marine Academy Plymouth shared four goals.

1 EASTERN – Frome Town passed up an opportunity to go top as Trowbridge Town substitute Megan Fear scored in a 1-1 tie. Swindon Town Development made it four wins from four with a 3-1 outcome at Laverstock & Ford.

1 NORTHERN – Cheltenham Town Development held leaders Frampton Rangers 0-0, Chipping Sodbury Town won 4-2 over Weston Super Mare.

1 WESTERN – Just one point separates the top four after St Agnes beat third-placed Feniton 2-1 thanks ot a Mollie Dring double.

BRISTOL SOCCERWORLD CUP 1ST ROUND – Downend Flyers eliminated AEK Boco 2-0 and Alphington progressed 5-1 at Exeter & Tedburn Rangers.

WEST MIDLANDS – Seven in a row for Stourbridge

PREMIER – Redditch United now enjoy an eight-point lead as subs Ellie Gerhold and Katie Ross-Baker both scored in a 4-0 win at Crusaders. Kidsgrove Athletic climbed to second with both goals at Knowle, Coundon Court pegged back Stockingford A A Pavilion in a 1-1 tie, Sutton Coldfield Town won 4-1 at Worcester City.

1 NORTH – AFC Telford United’s 4-0 result at Sutton Coldfield Town Royals took them to the top, Solihull Sporting sit third following a 2-0 victory against Port Vale.

1 SOUTH – Stourbridge made it seven wins in a row when seeing off Cookley Sports 2-0 in a clash of the leading pair. Coventry City slipped to a 2-0 loss at Rugby Town.
