Regional Leagues Round-up: Sutton Coldfield Town go top

Sutton Coldfield Town have replaced Kidderminster Harriers at the top of the West Midlands Women’s Regional League.

EASTERN – Billericay and Lawford win 7-2 away

Premier – Stevenage stayed top with a 2-0 victory at Colney Heath, AFC Sudbury moved clear in second when defeating Bowers & Pitsea 4-1.

1 South – Both games played ended 7-2, Lawford winning at East Bergholt United with a Daisy Canny first-half hat-trick, Billericay Town Development beating hosts Hutton as Layla Kenly scored-five.

EAST MIDLANDS – Grimsby Town top on goal-difference

Premier – Rotherham United meet Oughtibridge WM at Roundwood Golf Sports & Social Club on Wednesday, kick-off 7.30pm.

1 North – Grimsby Town knocked Gainsborough Trinity off the top on goal-difference, Danielle Brighton netting on 9 minutes to seal a 2-0 result at SJR Worksop.

1 South – Dunton & Broughton United defeated Thrapston Town 3-1 to go second.

LONDON & SOUTH EAST – Hastings win top-of-the-table clash

Premier – Worthing went three points clear when putting four past AFC Acorns, three of those from Chloe Winchester. Ebbsfleet United are up to second after Amelia Woodgate’s double gave them a 2-1 success at Millwall Lionesses. Dulwich Hamlet won by the same score at Enfield Town thanks to Sophie Manzi’s 86th-minute decider, Sutton United netted five at New London Lionesses, Dartford won 5-1 at Aylesford.

1 North – Clapton opened up a four-point advantage with a 2-0 result at Hackney, Dulwich Hamlet Reserves rose to third as 2-1 winners at Leatherhead, while Sport London E Benfica and Whyteleafe drew 2-2.

1 South – A crowd of 176 saw Hastings United overcome Ashford United 4-1 in a top-of-the-table clash, Eastbourne United going level on points with the latter following a 2-1 win away to Steyning Town where Aurelia Golos got the decisive goal. Bromley bagged both goals at Bexhill United, Welling United all four at Cray Valley, Herne Bay coming through 3-2 at Newhaven.

NORTH EAST – Pools Youth edge Hartlepool derby 

1 North – Charlotte Scott’s first-half hat-trick led to Hartlepool Pools Youth edging Hartlepool United 4-3, Spennymoor Town drew 1-1 with Norton & Stockton Ancients Reserves after Autumn Colledge scored on 82 minutes. Gateshead beat Bishop Auckland 8-2 with four from Christine Murray and three by Olivia Black, while Washington had a walkover versus Guisborough Town.

1 South – Barnsley FC Ladies lead by six points having beaten Bradford Park Avenue 8-0 with trebles for Lynn Goodman and Jodie Gregory. Millmoor’s Crystal Lisle got the only goal at Ripon City, York Railway Institute shared eight equally with Harworth Colliery, Farsley Celtic JFC ran out 10-3 winners at Sheffield Wednesday where Shauna Hill got four and Sarah Lawn three.

NORTH WEST – Salford on leaders heels 

Premier – Salford City Lionesses cut Curzon Ashton’s leadership to one point with a 5-1 result at winners at Blackburn CSC, Fleetwood Town won 5-1 on the road to Darwen.

1 North – Accrington Stanley edged Penwortham Town 3-2, Chorley Development defeated Sir Tom Finney 2-1 and Morecambe saw off Bolton Wanderers 3-0.

1 South – Leaders Runcorn Linnets won 4-0 at Alder, Poulton Vics pushed into second having beaten BRNESC 5-2,  Altrincham took the points 3-2 at Warrington Wolves.

SOUTHERN – Cup semi-final  line-up confirmed

1 South – Woking were 2-1 up at half-time away to Badshot Lea but substitute Rebecca Munro rescued a point for the top team.

League Cup Q-F Rushmoor’s Louise Ekins scored the one goal at AFC Stoneham, as did Esmee Sword on 75 minutes for Wycombe Wanderers at Bournemouth Sports. Sarah Bradshaw notched a second-half-hat-trick to give Eastleigh a 3-0 victory over Long Crendon, Ascot United sank Eversley & California 7-0. Ascot host Wycombe in the semi-finals on 12 March, Eastleigh entertain Rushmoor.

Chairman’s Cup 1st Rd – Woodley United eliminated Abbey Rangers 3-2, aided by a Gemma Sims brace.

SOUTH WEST – Forest Green’s title rivals draw

Premier – Both Bristol Rovers and Torquay United missed an opportunity to take top spot from Forest Green Rovers due to their 2-2 tie. Bishops Lydeard beat Sherborne Town with a Caitlin Berry effort, Liskeard Athletic defeated Poole Town 2-1.

1 East – Frome Town were 2-0 winners over Weymouth, Weston super Mare won 2-1 at Stockwood Wanderers.

1 West – Four-goal margins of victory for the leading pair saw Marine Academy Plymouth beat Bideford 6-2 and Saltash United net four at Budleigh Salterton, while Feniton had a fine 3-1 result away to Sticker.

WEST MIDLANDS – Sutton Coldfield hit summit

Premier – Sutton Coldfield Town replaced Kidderminster Harriers at the top after defeating Redditch United 4-0. Shrewsbury Town jumped three place to third with a 2-0 result at Crusaders.

1 North – Shifnal Town’s Rebecca-Lee Bown got the sole goal at AFC Telford United, Walsall Wood’s 8-1 score line featured a Tayler Davies treble. Rachael Green got a couple in Darlaston Town’s 4-2 win at Lichfield City Reserves, City of Stoke sent Coventry City to a 3-1 loss.

1 South – Coventry Sphinx edged Sedgley & Gornal United 3-2 to extend their lead to nine points, Bewdley Town beat Long Itchington 2-1 with a winner from Kirsty Roberts, Worcester City Development returned from Rugby Borough 3-0 victors.
