Regional Leagues: Cherries and Posh go top

AFC Bournemouth and Peterborough United went top of their respective Women’s Regional League Premier Division tables after results on 29 September. 

EASTERN – Grace grabs ten

PREMIER – Harlow Town held the leadership with a 2-1 victory over Luton Town, Peterborough Northern Star’s Eleanor Spendelow got the only goal at Bowers & Pitsea to out her side fourth, Wroxham’s Grace Birchall grabbed 10 goals in 68 minutes as Haringey Borough were thrashed 19-0. Elsewhere it ended; AFC Dunstable 1-5 St Ives Town, Bedford 2-0 Colney Heath, Wymondham Town 3-3 Royston Town.

1 NORTH – Cambridge City Development stayed top on goal-difference with a -0 win at Gorleston, while East Bergholt United edged AFC Sudbury with a Megan Partridge effort. Newmarket Town began with a 3-2 success at Kings Lynn Town, Needham Market started by sharing six goals with Histon.

1 SOUTH – Millwall held leaders Stevenage Development, Lionesses’ Shannan Drewe with a last-minute goal to cancel out Sherrie Evans’ opener. Hutton sent hosts Wodson Park to a 7-0 loss with four goals for Vicky Kinsman but a red card for substitute Katie Lowen. Hoddesdon Town Owls got off the mark in style, 6-1 at Lawford.

EAST MIDLANDS – Posh in pole position

PREMIER – Peterborough United came from 3-2 down to defeat Oughtibridge 5-3 and leapfrog them to the top of the table. Loughborough Students’ first points came 3-1 against Kettering Town.

1 NORTH – Notts County Development just made ot three wins from three, 4-3 over Lincoln Moorlands-Railway with Melissa East scoring twice. Hykeham Town hit five goals at Sleaford Town and Grimsby Borough substitute Natalie Aird got the winner in a 2-1 result at Arnold Eagles.

1 SOUTH – Beaumont Park beat Thrapston Town 4-1 to go level on points with leaders Notts County Women.

LONDON & SOUTH EAST – First for Fulham

PREMIER – Fulham forced their first win 2-1 at Saltdean United with Alice Curr netting the decider.

LEAGUE CUP GROUP STAGE – QPR Girls Development defeated Denham United with a Kasha Petit goal, Eastbourne Town won 3-1 against Dartford with the aid of a Molly Hill double.

GREATER LONDON – Hackney are second after their 2-0 win over Watford Development, Clapham United got going with a single-goal success over Spurs 3rds as Letitia Campous-Lennon found the net.

SOUTH EAST COUNTIES PREMIER – Phoenix Sports are just goal-difference off the top following a 4-2 win away at Herne Bay, while Ashford Ladies drew 1-1 with Parkwood Rangers.

NORTH EAST – Boro Rangers to the fore after 4-4 draw

PREMIER – Wallsend BC’s walkover against Ryton & Crawcrook Albion Tynedale moved them six points clear at the top, South Shields are third after a 3-1 win at York City and Harrogate Town held Ossett United 2-2.

1 NORTH – Boro Rangers went top despite letting a two-goal lead slip in being held 4-4 at home by Chester le Street Development. Sunderland West End sank Lumley 7-0, including three for Alexandra Ross, to go second in the table

1 SOUTH – York Railway Institute climbed to second place after hitting hosts Bridlington Rovers 6-1.

NORTH WEST – Seasiders second

1 NORTH – Blackpool rose to second on goal-difference with an 11-1 thrashing of hosts Accrington Stanley. The Seasiders are just ahead of Accrington Sportswho put six past Carlisle United and Workington Reds, 5-1 winners over Leigh RMI thanks mostly to a Jessica Reynolds hat-trick.

1 SOUTH – Curzon Ashton are third after beating Burscough Dynamo 7-0, West Kirby and Northwich Vixens shared eight goals, Wythenshawe Amateurs lost a nine-goal thriller 5-4 at home to Liverpool Feds Reserves.

SOUTHERN – Cherries on top

PREMIER – AFC Bournemouth beat Abingdon United 2-1, Hannah Bennett with the decisive goal that sent the Cherries top. Wycombe Wanderers got their first points on the board with a 2-0 score at Oxford City.

ONE – Eastleigh’s 3-1 scoreline at New Milton Town sent them top,  Abbey Rangers defeated Tilehurst Panthers 4-1 to climb to second and Abingdon Town sent morning leaders AFC Bournemouth Development to a 5-2 reverse.
Wycombe Wanderers Development’s Amelie Baker got both goals in their win at Alton, Bournemouth Sports 5-0 result over Southampton Women’s Reserves saw Sarah Plummer score two goals in as many minutes midway through the first half.

LEAGUE CUP PRELIMINARY ROUND – Ascot United pulled off a surprise 4-3 win at Newbury with two goals for super-sub Nicole Brown, a personal achievement matched by Moneyfields’ Paige Seeley in their 6-2 result at Woodley United.

SOUTH WEST – Callington in command

PREMIER – Callington Town’s fourth straight win, 5-2 at Wootton Bassett Town, sent them eight points clear of Bishops Lydeard and Ilminster Town (who drew 2-2) and Keynsham Town Development (held 0-0 at Bideford).  Marine Academy Plymouth’s opening points came 5-1 at Torquay United.

1 EASTERN – Frome Town’s 3-1 win over Pen Mill saw them five points ahead of the rest, while elsewhere there were 3-3 draws between Swindon Supermarine and Laverstock & Ford, Trowbridge Town and Swindon Spitfires.

1 NORTHERN – Emma Summerill came off the bench to give Almondsbury all three points against Cheltenham Town Development putting them goal-difference behind leaders Frampton Rangers, who went down 3-2 at home to Oldland Abbotonians. Bristol Ladies Union’ Ellie Preece enjoyed a four-goal haul in the 7-2 scoreline at Weston Super Mare and Chipping Sodbury Town won 2-0 at AEK Boco.

1 WESTERN – Plympton went top on goal-difference with a 7-3 success over St Agnes in which Lucy Atkinson was on target three times. Plymouth Argyle Reserves picked up their first points 6-1 versus Alphington, likewise Bude Town away at Exeter & Tedburn Rangers.

WEST MIDLANDS – Coundon’s Claudia clinches quick hat-trick

PREMIER – Redditch United remain top on goal-difference with a 3-1 win against Solihull United, Stockingford A A Pavilion are still on their heels after a 7-0 success at Lye Town where Catherine Smith got three. Coundon Court came through 5-1 at Knowle as Claudia Latchford struck a 15-minute hat-trick, Natasha Lawrence netted the winner in a 2-1 score fr Kidsgrove Athletic at Coventry Sphinx and Crusaders crushed Worcester City 8-1.

1 NORTH – AFC Telford United sub Gemma Smith got a brace in a 3-1 defeat of leaders Sandwell, elsewhere it finished Sutton Coldfield Town Royals 1-4 Solihull Sporting, Wyrley 6-2 Shrewsbury Town.

1 SOUTH – Stourbridge lead by six points after lashing Leamington Lions 9-0, Kidderminster Harriers got seven versus Rugby Town, Cookley Sports five against Sedgley & Gornal United, while Droitwich Spa defeated hosts Coventry City 3-1.
