Going top of their respective divisions after results on 30 September were Brentwood Town, Leek Town, Ossett United and Southampton FC.
EASTERN – Brentwood edge into first
PREMIER – Brentwood Town’s 3-0 win at AFC Sudbury – achieved with help of a Georgia Holdaway double – put them top by one goal from Cambridge City, who recorded a fourth straight win in beating Wymondham Town 2-1. Acle United won 2-1 at Colney Heath with a Grace Birchall brace and although AFC Dunstable lost for a fourth game in a row, it was only by a single goal at Peterborough Northern Star where they put through their own net.
ONE – Stevenage Reserves are five points clear after hitting Ipswich Wanderers 6-1 with two each for Daniella Martucci and Emily Schofield. St Ives Town went second as Georgia and Katie Stancombe shared the goals in a 4-1 result over Hertford Town. Newmarket Town are now third on goal-difference, their 4-1 win at Bishops Stortford including two for Jess Linger. Bowers & Pitsea beat Histon 2-0, Tiffany Forshaw netted six of Kings Lynn Town’s nine at Hatfield Peverel, Lawford leapfrogged Hoddesdon Town Owls when sending them to a 4-1 loss.
EAST MIDLANDS – Lutterworth see red in home defeat
LEAGUE CUP – Ollerton Town’s Shaniqua Barnes got two goals early in the second half as they won 4-1 at Mansfield Town. Loughborough Students overcame Rise Park 6-2 despite their visitors being higher in the table. Lutterworth Athletic’s Jo Hollingworth was sent off in a 3-0 home exit to Oughtibridge WMSC, for whom Lauren Turner scored twice win the last 20 minutes. Woodlands put five past Leicester City Ladies, two apiece for Chloe Scott and Imogen Fowler.
Hykeham Town edged Ilkeston Town in a seven-goal thriller, Millie Seaton with two goals in a five-minute spell, Loughborough Foxes Vixens eliminated Arnold Town 2-1. Peterborough United came through 6-3 at Boston United, Tash Applegate coming off the bench to bag a brace. Oadby & Wigston got all three goals at Corby Town, Grimsby Borough sunk Calverton 7-0 with Sue Green grabbing a treble. Northampton Town stormed to a 9-2 victory at Notts County, sub Leah Stacey one of three players scoring twice, while league leaders Leicester City WFC Development crushed Retford United 17-0, Chantelle Amber top-scoring with five.
LONDON & SOUTH EAST – Phoenix beat leaders
PREMIER – London Kent Football United made it two wins from three with a narrow 2-1 result over Fulham.
LEAGUE CUP – In Group B, AFC Phoenix sent league leaders Whyteleafe to a 3-0 reverse. There were four different scorers as Eastbourne Town put four past Parkwood Rangers in Group A.
GREATER LONDON PREMIER – The top three all scored six or more goals, with Ashford Town staying in first place with a 7-1 result a Regents Park Rangers, seven different players on their scoresheet. Godalming Town hit Watford Development for six, likewise New London Lionesses at Victoire. Natalie White netted the only goal in added time as Hackney edged Colne Valley.
SOUTH EAST COUNTIES PREMIER – Crawley Wasps Reserves won 5-0 against Eastbourne Ladies to make it five wins on the trot, second-placed Ashford Ladies had a remarkable 7-5 scoreline away at Phoenix Sports. Newhaven beat Bexhill United 4-2 with a couple for Lauren Smith, Saltdean United scored twice in the opening 5 minutes on the way to a 3-0 defeat of Lewes Foundation, while Worthing posted a 4-0 win over Meridian.
NORTH EAST – Durham Cestria defeat leaders
PREMIER – Harrogate Town dropped their first points when sunk 7-2 at Durham Cestria, where Lauren Robson hit a second-half hat-trick. Dannika Purdham earned South Shields a 1-1 draw against Ryton & Crawcrook Albion Tynedale with an 80th-minute equaliser. Hartlepool United began by winning 7-0 at Castleford White Rose, three of their goals by Caitlin Bates, Farsley Celtic beat hosts York City in the best of seven goals, while Wallsend BC ran out 4-1 winners over Rotherham United.
1 NORTH – Sunderland West End had five different scorers in the 5-1 result against Norton & Stockton Ancients Reserves which gave them their fourth straight win. Washington rescued a point at home to Chester le Street Town St.Cuthberts, for whom Amy Lawson scored twice in a 2-2 tie. Alnwick Town started with a 2-0 score against Cramlington United, Consett came through 3-2 at Boro Rangers and Jessica Round netted three in Redcar Town’s 4-0 defeat of Prudhoe Town.
1 SOUTH – Ossett United sank Sheffield Wednesday 7-0 to go top, in place of Barnsley Development who had to settle for a 2-2 draw with Altofts. Wakefield won 8-3 at home to Harrogate Railway, York RI thrashed Doncaster Belles 10-1
NORTH WEST – Curzon’s sweet sixteen
PREMIER – Mossley Hill stayed top when seeing off Accrington 4-0, Fleetwood Town Wrens took the points 2-1 at Manchester Stingers, Wigan Athletic won 3-1 at Penrith. FC United won the meeting with Merseyrail 4-1 at Tranmere Rovers returned from Sir Tom Finney 4-2 victors.
1 NORTH – Blackpool kept first place with their 4-1 success at Cammell Laird but Carlisle United stayed on their heels with a fourth win on the trot, 3-2 over Blackburn CSC. Morecambe Reserves recorded a 4-2 result with Workington Reds, Crosby got both goals of the game with Preston North End. Penwortham Town overcame Leigh RMI 7-2 and there were as many goals for Bury against Burscough Dynamo.
1 SOUTH – Leaders Altrincham came away from Liverpool Feds Reserves with a 2-1 result, Curzon Ashton crushed City of Liverpool 16-1 with Paris Welsh netting five, while Didsbury and Chester were goalless. Northwich Vixens’ first points came 5-3 with Wythenshawe Amateurs, West Didsbury & Chorlton won 5-1 at Stockport County Blues.
SOUTHERN – Saints ascend to summit
PREMIER – It’s top spot after back-to-back wins for Southampton FC, whose Georgie Freeland scored twice in a 3-1 win at Woodley United. Barton Rovers got off the mark 3-0 over Newbury, Rachel Allwright with a double. No goals for New Milton Town and Ascot United but they did each earn their first point.
LEAGUE CUP PRELIMINARY ROUND – AFC Bournemouth had a hard time seeing off Division 1 Moneyfields but Rosie Eden’s effort brought a 5-4 extra-time result. Oxford City sailed through their tie, 7-0 at Shanklin.
ONE – Wycombe Wanderers’ third win on the trot was an 11-0 whipping of Wargrave, in which Tara Ashley Woodward struck five times. Eastleigh sub Natasha Konczak got both their goals in a 2-1 success at second-placed Southampton WFC Development. Wokingham & Emmbrook got going as Alice Lilley netted a couple in the 5-2 win at Sandhurst Town.
SOUTH WEST – MAP level on points with Bishops
PREMIER – Marine Academy Plymouth stuck ten goals past Torquay United (with three each for Maisie Williams and Sam Drewery) but it was not enough to put them ahead of leaders Bishops Lydeard. Callington Town achieved a fine 3-1 win at Exeter City, Chloe Williams scoring twice. After four defeats, Forest Green Rovers downed Downend Flyers 4-0, while Middlezoy accounted for Keynsham Town Development 3-1 and Ilminster Town’s match with Portishead was abandoned.
1 EASTERN – Cheltenham Town Development’s third win from three came 4-1 at FC Chippenham, two goals from Emma Levett. AEK Boco beat Laverstock & Ford 2-0 away, Swindon Spitfires are third after a 3-1 win against Trowbridge Town, in which Shannon King was twice on target. Wootton Bassett Town kicked off in style, 5-0 at Oldland Abbotonians where Aly Lyons claimed a hat-trick. Almondsbury’s 86th-minute leveller from Jessica Bessell earned them a first point in a 2-2 draw at Frampton Rangers.
1 WESTERN – Weston Mendip were the first to take points off Plympton when the pair finished all square at 1-1. Alphington and Plymouth Argyle Reserves are now just a point behind the leaders, winning 3-1 at Pen Mill and 3-2 at Weston Super Mare (with a Maya Ridge brace) respectively. Bude Town’s 4-0 win at Exeter & Tedburn Rangers was their first points of the season, Katherine Bryant with two goals. Feniton are also off the mark, having held Bideford 2-2.
WEST MIDLANDS – Leek new leaders
PREMIER – Coventry Sphinx’s 5-1 win at Knowle say them stay ahead of Coundon Court, who were 5-3 winners against Leafield Athletic. Stockingford AA Pavilion stormed to an 8-2 scoreline at Worcester United, Crusaders beat Goldenhill Wanderers 603 and Sutton Coldfield Town tied 1-1 with Redditch United.
1 NORTH – The leadership changed hands with big wins for the leading pair; Leek Town netting 14 times at Florence to go top, AFC Telford United sending Port Vale to a 7-2 defeat. Chantelle Gallagher got five for Leek and Rehanne Mellor a 23-minute treble. Shrewsbury Town got off the mark at the fourth attempt, 2-1 at Wyrley, Stoke City Development won 4-1 at Sandwell.
1 SOUTH – Sedgley & Gornal United have won all five games following a 4-2 success at Droitwich Spa. Solihull United had a 7-1 victory over Rugby Town, Kidderminster Harriers won 6-1 at Coventry City. Solihull Sporting came away from Kingfisher 4-2 winners and Stourbridge hit Leamington for six.
