Some incredible goal-scoring feats saw Isabella Simmons get seven for Cambridge City, Gemma Fraser net all six for Chesham United and Northampton Town’s Emma Dunmore register five.
EASTERN – Cambridge City’s Simmons nets seven
PREMIER – Writtle missed the chance to go top when beaten 6-2 at home by Acle United, for whom substitute Grace Birchall bagged a brace. Cambridge City ran out 13-2 winners over Brentwood Town, Isabella Simmons with a seven-goal haul. Bedford netted eight times at Colney Heath, AFC Sudbury’s Mia Etheridge scored twice in a 4-1 victory at Lowestoft Town, while Royston Town sealed a first win, 3-0 over AFC Dunstable.
1 NORTH – There were four different scorers for Ipswich Wanderers as they edged Cambridge United Res 4-3; Jess Taylor-Allum, Michelle Taylor-Allum, Coral Young and Melissa Stickland.
1 SOUTH – Hutton got the only goal of the game at Hoddesdon Town Owls, Laura Allen the scorer.
LEAGUE CUP 2ND ROUND – All the goals came in the second half as Kings Lynn Town eliminated Little Thurrock Dynamos 4-2, Tiffany Forshaw getting two of them. Wymondham Town won 3-1 over Histon with a double from Laura Nicholls, while Harlow Town beat Stevenage Reserves 3-0 just a week after losing to them in the league.
EAST MIDLANDS – Nettleham and Arnold Dev progress on pens
LEAGUE CUP 2ND ROUND – Two ties were decided on penalties, with Arnold Town Development going through at Heather and Nettleham edging out Peterborough United, while Northampton Town stormed through 6-1 after extra-time against Arnold Town firsts, Emma Dunmore with five of the goals. Corby Town came from behind to win 2-1 at Kettering Town, Calverton MW were 3-1 winners at AFC Leicester and Oughtibridge defeated Loughborough Students 2-0.
LEAGUE PLATE 1ST ROUND – Cosby United turned round a 2-1 half-time deficit to defeat Draycott Victoria 4-2. Woodlands 6-2 win at Desford included a couple for sub Katie Mayfield, Natasha Murray got both goals as Rise Park won 2-1 at Hykeham Town. Lincoln Moorlands Railway’s Alice Hayes got a treble in a 5-2 result against Grimsby Borough, Cassie Steward matched that as Peterborough Northern Star hit Mansfield Hosiery Mills for six. Thrapston Town went through 2-0 at Sleaford Town and Oadby & Wigston Dynamo walloped Teversal 11-1, Nikki Lidgett top-scoring with four.
LONDON & SOUTH EAST – Seven wins for Wasps
PREMIER – It was seven straight wins for Crawley Wasps with a 3-0 result over Carshalton Athletic, Faye Rabson on target twice. AFC Phoenix kept close to the leaders with a Brittany Saylor goal sufficient to beat Eastbourne Town and Aylesford leapfrogged Fulham with a 3-1 away win, Zara Chapman twice on target.
GREATER LONDON PREMIER – QPR Development’s Chloe Sampson scored all four goals in the win over Victoire that sent them clear at the top, Spurs Development having been held 4-4 by third-placed Whyteleafe. Hampstead’s 4-2 victory over AFC Wimbledon Development included two from Faith Greene, while Hemel Hempstead Town got off the bottom with a 5-3 defeat of Colne Valley, in which Hannah Noonan came on to score twice.
SOUTH EAST COUNTIES PREMIER -Kent Football United are the new leaders after a 3-0 scoreline against Hassocks, in which Chloe Francis netted twice. Worthing – who host West Ham in the Goodmove Cup on Tuesday – are second on goal-difference, having knocked Crawley Wasps Reserves off the top with a 4-o defeat. Bexhill United 0 – 1 Chichester City Development’s Gemma Halford got the goal at Bexhill United that put them third. Eastbourne Ladies went above Ashford when beating them 3-1, winless pair Meridian and Herne Bay drew for the third time, Amy Russ and Sophie Gifford the respective goalscorers.
NORTH EAST – Four straight wins for Wallsend
PREMIER – Four different scorers saw Durham Cestria won 4-2 at RACA Tynedale and Wallsend BC stayed right on their tails with a fourth straight win, Rebecca George with the solitary goal to beat York City. Norton & Stockton Ancients also maintained 100% form with a goal in each half against Farsley Celtic. Castleford White Rose secured their first points 3-1 at Wakefield and East Yorkshire Carnegie were 4-2 victors at Hartlepool United.
NORTHERN – South Shields dropped points for the first time when held 2-2 by Boldon CA Villa, Allison Ferris with both for the visitors. York RI are second after a 2-1 result against Cramlington United and Blyth Lions opening win came in a 6-4 goal-fest at Prudhoe Town, where Lauren Robson featured with four goals.
SOUTHERN – Altofts had a 3-0 win in the top versus bottom game with Swallownest Beighton. Sheffield Wednesday stayed unbeaten as Amy-Leigh Barringham-Beck bagged a brace in the 4-2 beating of Doncaster Belles. Harrogate Railway’s Emma Lansdall notched four in a 7-3 score against Ossett Albion, Harrogate Town’s Sophie Tinson was at the double in a 4-0 win at Malet Lambert.
NORTH WEST – Penrith push seven points clear
PREMIER – Tranmere Rovers are level with leaders Merrseyrail Bootle following a 2-1 win over Blackpool. Blackburn CSC sealed a first win with the only goal at CMB, while Manchester Stingers and Wigan Athletic shared four goals.
1 NORTH – Penrith’s 2-1 win at Kendal Town was their sixth in a row and pushed them 7 points clear of the rest, with goalkeeper Michelle Jones making her 100th appearance. Workington Reds went above Morecambe Reserves into fourth when edging them away from home with the best of five goals. Hayley Bracken got two for the Reds but Erin Marley’s decider was her first for the club.
1 SOUTH – Five goals for FC United past West Didsbury & Chorlton made it as many wins on the trot and left them top by four points. Jess Battle banked three more goals for the side that have yet to concede once.
ARGYLE SPORTS CUP 1ST ROUND – There were 10 goals as Sir Tom Finney accounted for Crewe Alexandra Development 7-3, with Merseyrail Bootle and City of Liverpool putting 5 past Accrington Ladies and Carlisle United respectively. Altrincham put paid to Preston North End’s hopes with a 3-0 scoreline, Fleetwood Town Wrens won 2-0 at Liverpool Feds Reserves and there were narrow victories for Burnley (1-0 at Warrington Wolverines) and Cammell Laird, 3-2 against Curzon Ashton.
SOUTHERN – Fraser forces Chesham top
PREMIER – Gemma Fraser remarkably struck all six goals as Chesham United beat New Milton Town to go top of the table. Oxford City still have a perfect record, as Lauren May got a couple in the 5-2 success at Winchester City Flyers. Ascot United lost the leadership but rescued a point with an 85th-minute equaliser from Lauren Broadhurst, Newbury having gone ahead through Tracey Beales.
1 NORTH – Wargarve went level on points with leaders Barton Rovers after a 2-0 win over Wokingham & Emmbrook, both goals by Alison Richardson. Oxford City Nomads lost out 3-0 at home to Wycombe Wanderers, who secured the points with two goals in the last quarter of the match.
1 SOUTH – AFC Bournemouth are 3 points clear after a 3-1 win over Warsash Wasps, while Eastleigh got two goals in the last 13 minutes at Alton to post a 3-0 victory.
SOUTH WEST – MAP back on track
PREMIER – Marine Academy Plymouth returned to the summit as Sam Drewery scored twice in their 5-0 win over Charlestown, while Middlezoy Rovers suffered a 5-2 home reverse to Bishops Lydeard, for whom Ruth Shackleton claimed a hat-trick. Exeter City have now won all their three games, Kate Finch netting twice in a 4-1 defeat of Keynsham Town Development. Buckland Athletic played only their second game when hitting six at Downend Flyers, where Laura Gough and Kate Hine got two apiece. Ilminster Town won 4-1 at AEK Boco and Torquay United took the points 2-0 against Forest Green Rovers.
EASTERN – Wootton Bassett Town’s sixth straight win – 4-1 over Oldland Abbotonians – saw them move five points clear, aided by a Beth Westlake brace. Portishead are second even though they surrended their 100% record in a 3-3 tie at St Nicholas Reserves, whose Charlotte Davis earned them a third point with a double. There were three goals for Holly Rogers as Cheltenham Town Development drew 4-4 at Swindon Spitfires. Swindon Town Development became the first to take points off FC Chippenham and in some style, a 9-1 thrashing featuring four for Kathryn Bach and three from Milly Colford. Frome Town were off the mark with a 2-2 tie at Cheltenham Civil Service.
WESTERN – Alphington pushed Plymouth Argyle Reserves all the way with Laura Burwood on target twice but Gabi Alphous did likewise, as the Pilgrims edge the game 4-3 to make it six wins from six. Callington Town are second after an Eleri Griffiths’ treble helped them to a 7-1 win in an all-Cornish clash with Bude Town. Bethany Ellis was Bideford’s hero, netting all their goals for a first win; 3-1 at Newquay Celtic. Plympton saw off Activate with a Jaydee Seaman double in a 4-2 result.
WEST MIDLANDS – Top four take max points
PREMIER – Crusaders were close to dropping points for only the second time but came through 4-3 against Lye Town, Kirsty Spencer twice finding the net. The three teams beneath them all kept up the pace with away wins, Leafield Athletic 7-1 at Knowle (with four from Amy Andrews), Bedworth United 5-0 over Wolverhampton Sporting and Stockingford AA Pavilion 4-2 against Coundon Court. Kingshurst Sporting Club hit double-figures against Leamington Lions.
1 NORTH – Sutton Coldfield Town eased to a seventh successive victory, 9-0 over Tamworth. Leek Town put six past Florence Colliery to go second and Goldenhill Wanderers’ 3-1 defeat of Wyrley has them in third. Shrewsbury Town beat Brereton Town 5-0 with a couple for Katie Doster and Shrewsbury Juniors defeated Bilbrook 3-1.
1 SOUTH – Gornal’s 5-2 result at home to Kidderminster Harriers extended their faultless start and put them ahead of the rest. Redditch United rose to second with four unanswered goals at Droitwich Spa. Coventry Sphinx had a narrow 3-2 win over Rugby Town, while Coventry Development’s first point game in a 1-1 tie with Solihull Sporting.
