Rangers FC Women have signed experienced Danish international defender Janni Arnth from Fiorentina.
Arnth has over 90 caps for Denmark and played over 200 games for Fortuna Hjørring, more than 125 while at Linköpings and had a spell at Arsenal in 2019.
She told RangersTV: “I am really happy and delighted to join Rangers, it is an amazing club with a very proud history so I feel really happy to be here.
“I have had many good conversations with Amy [McDonald] and Malky [Thomson] and I feel there’s a clear project here. I want to be a part of this journey and contribute as a player.”
Women’s and Girls’ manager Amy McDonald told rangers.co.uk: “We are delighted to have secured the signing of defender Janni Arnth.
“She brings with her a wealth of experience from both club and international level which will be vital for us on and off the pitch this season.
“To be able to attract such an experienced European player to the club again shows the growth of the women’s programme and the ambition going forward.”
Rangers head coach Malky Thomson added: “It is fantastic to have Janni joining as part of the squad and through discussions with her we felt she would be a great fit for the squad both as a player and as a person.
“She is a well-established centre-back and will further add to the competition within the squad which can only help increase the standard in the squad.”
