Leicester City WFC came through 3-1 at home to Midlands promotion-chasers Loughborough Foxes. Sophie Domingo’s goal had the hosts ahead at half-time and although the Foxes levelled 6 minutes into the second period with a deflected Eva Rogers effort, City restored their advantage before the hour mark through Paige Stewart. The win was sealed 10 minutes from time as a cross forced a Victoria Brackenbury own-goal.

In the Plate, Birmingham & West Midlands beat Crewe Alexandra 3-1, Harriet Shaw-Roberts celebrating her birthday with one of the goals. Charlie Fisher and Amy Eastwood also got on the scoresheet, Megan Booth pulling one back to make it 2-1.

Chorley are also into the quarter-finals, having scored both the goals of the game at Long Eaton United.

Eagles rise to second in Southern

Crystal Palace went second to South East London rivals Charlton Athletic in the Southern Division, going ahead of C & K Basildon on goal-difference with a 2-0 win at West Ham. The Eagles struck with a deflected 27th-minute effort and secured the points with a close range finish 4 minutes from the end.

Newcastle United are up two places to eighth in Northern Division 1, after beating fourth-placed Morecambe 4-2 away. Christina Deverdics run and finish opened the scoring just 2 minutes in and on 16 minutes Steph Ord’s long range shot was deflected up and over the goalkeeper to double United’s lead. Morecambe wiped that advantage out with a couple of quick goals before the hour mark. However, Siobhan Jones won and converted a penalty and Nicole Dack also netted to regain that two-goal cushion.

Enfield Town hit Haringey Borough for six to jump up three to seventh position. An own-goal and a Sheryce Slater effort had the hosts two up at half-time, with four goals following in the last quarter, as Daisy Jenkins and Danielle Smith struck and Andrea Vivas bagged a brace.

Southampton WFC went level on points with South West Division 1 leaders Keynsham Town, when hitting hosts Larkhall Athlec for six. Emma Pinner led the way with three goals, Philippa Holden got a couple and Sheree Bell-Jack the other.

Maidenhead United’s edged Cheltenham Town 3-2 and finish the year in the top half. Lucy Casey scored twice for the Magpies and Alex Dover their other, while Ella Hitchcox found the net with an equaliser for the Robins,

The meeting of the two winless sides brought nine goals as St Nicholas climbed off the bottom with a 6-3 success at Basingstoke Town, despite the hosts going in 3-2 up at half-time. Rhian Robbins claimed a hat-trick for St Nicks, Adele Hooper two goals and Sophie Sweet one, while Town players on target were Shannon King, Lianne Hill and Charlotte Hull.
