Montrose go clear in Scottish Women’s Premier League 2

While the top four of the Scottish Women’s Premier League all won, Montrose moved three points clear in SWPL2.


Hibernian 1-2 Spartans
Glasgow City 6-0 Hamilton Academical
Aberdeen 0-1 Hearts
Dundee United 2-1 Glasgow Women
Motherwell 0-7 Rangers
Celtic 8-0 Partick Thistle

Glasgow City stayed top by five points with six goals against Hamilton, Priscilla Chinchilla and Jenna Clark with two first-half efforts each.

Rangers rolled in seven at Motherwell with two from Tessel Middag, Celtic put eight past Partick aided by braces from Amy Gallaher and Chloe Craig.

Hearts hit a 77th-minute decider at Aberdeen, Spartans won the derby at Hibernian, Dundee United defeated Glasgow Women to go ninth.

Montrose went clear at the top when defeating Queen’s Park, St.Johnstone pulling off a 3-1 win at Gartcairn to go fourth as Morgan Steedman scored to thwart a fightback.

Boroughmuir Thistle twice levelled to draw at East Fife, Abby Robinson scored two of Kilmarnock’s three goals at Stirling University.
