Claire Skinner (20), who makes the move from Aston Villa, has worked her way through the Wales set up and is now currently a part of the senior squad.
She told oxfordunitedwfc.co.uk: “I’m really excited to be able to sign for Oxford and be playing in one of the best leagues in the UK. I feel this is a club that is really looking to progress players and to be able to push them to be as good as they can be.”
Manager Andy Cook added: “To be able to announce that we have signed Claire is fantastic. She was made aware to me when I watched the Welsh national team. Having spoken to her national coaches and seeing her play for Aston Villa, it was something I was very keen to make happen.
“I spoke to Claire, outlined my Vision for Oxford and she was very keen to be a part of it. She is coming to develop and make it as competitive as possible for the goalkeepers. She knows it’s going to be tough but she is ready to fight. Having Claire and Demi [Lambourne] as our GKs this season shows the level of quality I want here and the way the club is moving forward.”
