Liverpool Feds and Oxford United Women win final thrillers

Liverpool Feds and Oxford United won the FA Women’s National League Reserves Cup and Plate respectively after seven-goal thrillers.


AFC Bournemouth Development 3-4 Oxford United Development

Lucy Trinder and Poppy Dearlove both had Oxford United Development ahead, before their AFC Bournemouth counterparts not only levelled twice but then took the lead.

Amy Woodhead brought Oxford back on level terms, before clinching the Reserves Cup with her second of the final.


Liverpool Feds Reserves 4-3 Peterborough United Development

Liverpool Feds Reserves twice came from behind in edging Peterborough United Development 4-3 in the Reserves Plate Final.

Ellie Curson scored two minutes in and Millie Williams replied with a header, Curson then getting her second from distance only for Feds’ substitute Fatima Santos-Costa to net with her first touch.

Sophie Coward put Feds in front for the first time and although Curson forced an own-goal to make it 3-3, Natalie Clark won it with a dramatic stoppage-time header.


Doncaster Rovers Belles 3-0 FC United of Manchester

After FC United of Manchester staged both finals, their team travelled to take on Doncaster Rovers Belles in an evening kick-off at the Eco-Power Stadium.

Arianne Parnham picked out the pass for Hannah McDonald to net an early opener for the Belles, substitute Megumi Shenton added a second in the latter stages when played in by Jasmine Saxton.

Mollie Barlow added an emphatic third finish, as Belles moved into the top half of the table and FC United were relegated.

Liverpool go fourth in the Barclays Women’s Super League
