Rachel Daly, top scorer and player of the tournament, set up the second goal to secure the National Women’s Soccer League Challenge Cup for Houston Dash.
Houston Dash upset the odds – having earlier lost to of their group games – to defeat Chicago Red Stars 2-0 on Sunday, with goals early and late in the final.
The Dash were in front after Sophie Schmidt converted a penalty but it was injury time when England’s Daly set up Shea Groom for a decisive second, as her side won the Cup for the first time.
