Nottingham Forest Ladies to host Reggae Girlz at City Ground

Nottingham Forest Ladies are to play the Jamaica Football Federation’s Senior Reggae Girlz side at The City Ground on Sunday 28th October, kick-off 3pm.

Forest’s website explains that the game will be a celebration of the Windrush generation and of Caribbean Family Culture. A Caribbean Family Fest will be provided including Jamaican food, performances by Nottingham’s Reggae artists as well as special events for visiting guests from Jamaica, the wider Caribbean and the UK.

Under the Patronage of His Excellency George Ramocan, Jamaica’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, the match will celebrate the arrival of several hundred Jamaican and Caribbean immigrants to Great Britain, who arrived on the “Empire Windrush” 70 years ago.

Jamaica’s Reggae Girlz they have won all their matches in Round One of World Cup qualifiers and will participate in the final round of qualifiers in the USA from 5-17 October, where they will meet Canada, Costa Rica and Cuba in Group B.
