Norway’s 1-0 victory away to Belgium on Friday evening sealed their place at the FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

Tuva Hansen’s first international goal gave Norway the win in the debut game in charge for former player Hege Riise.

Iceland hit Belarus for six in Group C with doubles from Dagný Brynjarsdóttir and Sara Bjork Gunnarsdóttir to go a point ahead of the Netherlands, with the pair to clash on Tuesday in Utrecht.

Italy lead Group G by two points from Switzerland, ahead of the last games on Tuesday. The Swiss won 2-0 in Croatia with Viola Calligaris and Ramona Bachmann on target, while midfielder Arianna Cruso scored half of Italy’s eight goals in Moldova. In the same group, Romania were two up in only three minutes on the way to a 7-1 victory in Lithuania.

Portugal came from behind to win 2-1 in Serbia, the winner coming in first half stoppage time. The result lifted Portugal above Serbia into second place in Group H.

Spain sent Hungary to a 3-0 defeat with Esther González, Irene Paredes and Patri Guijarro hitting the target, Ukraine posted a similar result from the other Group B fixture in the Faroe Islands.

Elsewhere in Group E, Azerbaijan got both goals of the game in Malta.
