Scotland looked set to hold the Netherlands to a 1-1 draw but were defeated by an 88th-minute goal in the friendly international in Zwolle.

The Netherlands netted 10 minutes in, Danielle van de Donk setting up Vivianne Miedema to shoot past goalkeepe Lee Gibson.

Scotland were back on level terms within two minutes, when Jenna Clark’s ball over the top was taken on by Claire Emslie and slotted into the far corner.

Miedema was denied a second by the bar and then with a save from Gibson in a one-on-one situation, Emslie also might have doubled her tally but for Daphne van Domselaar’s save.

With time running out, substitute Kayleigh van Dooren stabbed home a rebound of the crossbar for the Dutch.
