North Korea beat USA to reach FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Final

North Korea were 1-0 winners over the USA in the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup semi-finals, while Japan beat the Netherlands 2-0.

Choe Il-son’s goal midway through the first half proved enough for North Korea to defeat the USA, at Estadio Pascual Guerrero in Cali, Colombia. Choe is currently joint top scorer at the tournament, on five goals.

Manaka Matsukubo gave Japan the lead over the Netherlands just before the break, sealing victory with her second seven minutes from time.

The third-place play-off will take place on Saturday at 10pm UK time, with the final 24 hours later and both live on FIFA+.
