The midweek women’s friendly internationals saw Netherlands net seven against Norway but Germany held 0-0 by Chile.

The Netherlands ran riot after the break, adding to first-half goals against Norway from Vivianne Miedema and Sherida Spitse. Three goals followed in an eight-minute spell before the hour mark, through Jill Roord, an Ingrid Moe Wold own-goal and Miedema’s second. Shanice van de Sanden and Danielle van de Donk also found the net in the 7-0 rout.

A much-changed Germany drew a blank against Chile, Lena Lettwein closest to breaking the deadlock in the first half, Tabea Waßmuth denied by Christiane Endler in the second period.

No goals either as Sweden met Olympic opponents Australia, with Hayley Ruso clocking up her 50th appearance for the Matildas, but Sweden’s Caroline Seger  becoming the most-capped European with her 215th cap. Australia keeper Teagan Micah made a fingertip save to thwart Julia Roddar, while Kyah Simon’s volley was saved by Jennifer Falk. Sam Kerr came closest to a goal on 68 minutes but saw her effort come back off the woodwork.

Spain defeated Denmark 3-0, as Aitana Bonmati opened the scoring in first-half stoppage-time on the way to bagging a brace. Patricia Guijarro doubled the advantage midway through the second period and Bonmati again found the net late on.
