Williams wins it for Oxford

Cheryl Williams bagged a spectacular brace as Oxford United defeated Milton Keynes Dons 2-1 Tuesday night.

Williams struck the opener from 25 yards but the Dons were level by the break, Mollie Coupar rising unchallenged to head home from a corner.

But four minutes after the interval, Williams restored the lead direct from a free-kick, as her side moved into fifth place, above Plymouth Argyle on goals scored.

Cambridge City win County Cup

Meanwhile in County FA competition, Cambridge City overcame Easter League side Histon 6-0 at the Abbey Stadium on Wednesday to lift the Cambridgeshire Cup.

Two tiers separate the teams and so did two goals by the break, both courtesy of Karly Tolentino, the first from the spot.

Charlotte Gillies added the third, Shannon Shaw struck twice in the last 20 minutes, with Laura Mills then rounding off the scoring.
