Upon receiving the Manager of the Month trophy Phillips said: “I’m incredibly fortunate to lead a group of staff and players who have such strong character and drive. Chair of the League Managers Association panel Faye White MBE added: “Melissa’s team continued their excellent run of form with two wins in November. They haven’t lost since the first game of the season and are mounting a serious title challenge, ahead of the winter break.

“Melissa has found a balance between expressive attacking play and being organised out of possession, with London City leading the way in the scoring and goal-difference charts, as well as edging ahead of Bristol City in the league table.”
