Manchester United’s Jess Park has withdrawn from the England squad due to concussion symptoms.

The midfielder sustained a delayed concussion following Manchester United’s last Barclays Women’s Super League fixture ten days ago.

Park scored twice late on against Everton on Sunday, 12th October to give her side a 4-1 win at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

But she was not part of the United squad that faced Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Women’s Champions League on Thursday.

And the England camp have confirmed that Park reported to St. George’s Park on Monday as part of the 24-player squad to continue her graded return to play, but has since experienced some symptoms meaning she has now returned to her club to continue her rehabilitation.

It means a call-up for Tottenham Hotspur’s Jess Naz, who has been added to the England squad to face Brazil in Manchester on Saturday and Australia in Derby next Tuesday.

Naz already has six caps, mostly recently coming on as a substitute in February’s 1-0 win against Spain at Wembley.

Jess Park: Her season so far

Jess Park has had an impressive season since signing for Manchester United at the start of September.

United boss Marc Skinner had previously said that he hoped Park and team-mate Ella Toone would have the chance to pick up their club partnership at international level, saying: “If Sarina feels she needs tight areas unlocking, then there is no better than Jess or Tooney right now to do that.

“If you need better ball control in tighter areas, you can’t get two better than them.”

And Park herself has said how much she is enjoying her football.

“That’s what I wanted to do, come and play football and enjoy it and be creative and dynamic, linking with players. You can see it coming off now. We’ve worked on it in training, we’ve worked on it together, and I think we’re getting the little details a lot more right now.”
