Goalkeeper Siobhan Chamberlain suffered a suspected neck injury on her Manchester United debut on Sunday 15 July.
United’s opening pre-season game against Chamberlain’s former team Liverpool was abandoned, as the 34-year-old England ‘keeper had to be taken to hospital.
Casey Stoney’s side said on Twitter: “Fortunately investigations confirmed no serious injury.
“All medical precautions were taken which necessitated abandonment of the game whilst Siobhan was treated prior to hospital transfer. Siobhan is recovering well.”
Chamberlain later added: “It was an eventful first game in a Man Utd shirt, but thankfully I’m all good and looking forward to being back out on the pitch! Big thanks to all medical staff who were amazing start to finish!”
Manchester United go again on Sunday 22 July, when they host Blackburn Rovers in another friendly fixture.
