Manchester City lost out to Paris Saint-Germain in the Perth International Cup Final following an 85th-minute penalty.

PSG had Anaïs Ebayilin carried off early on, after which Jess Park penetrated the defence with a pass but Katarzyna Kiedrzynek twice got down to take the ball off the feet of Khadija Shaw and then Mary Fowler.

Kiedrzynek parried away a powerful drive by Shaw who had been found by Fowler’s pass, while Sakina Karchaoui shot just wide for PSG in a goalless first half.

Shaw was again thwarted by Kiedrzynek after the restart, during a tighter second half, which PSG would take with five minutes left.

Kerstin Casperij was penalised for a tackle on Tara Elimbi Gilbert in the box, Jennifer Echegini converting from the spot when sending Khiara Keating the wrong way.

Chloe Kelly went close to levelling late in stoppage time but her effort slipped just wide of the far post.
