Maddi Wilde returns to London City Lionesses on two-year contract after a loan spell last season from Bristol City.

The 20-year-old full-back made a total of 25 appearances in all competitions for London City last term.

Wilde told londoncitylionesses.com: “After last season, I could see the steps that were being taken behind the scenes, with Michele [Kang] pushing standards forward, and I knew that I wanted to be part of this environment again.

“With all the changes that are happening at the training ground, it shows that we’re really investing in the project and that we’re going to be in the best position to fight for promotion this time.”

Director of Football Ronald Thompson added: “Playing for us last season, Maddi proved her versatility across a number of different positions and roles. She didn’t always have the opportunity to play in her best role and we felt that we needed to add someone in that full-back role this season.

“We think that Maddi has the potential to become a really, really good defensive-minded player, so it was an easy decision for us to bring her back permanently.”
