London City Lionesses have signed defender Corinne Henson from Barclays Women’s Championship rivals Watford.
An English and American dual-national, the 20-year-old had a spell at Charlton Athletic and also has the experience of playing forward and midfield roles.
Head coach Carolina Morace told londoncitylionesses.com: “She is a young player who has lots of positive qualities in ball possession.
“Corinne still has room to improve because she is at the start of her career, but we are happy that she decided to join us. She is a very versatile player who is naturally left-footed, which is important for us tactically.”
Henson said: “The longer term vision of the Club and the work that is happening behind the scenes is really exciting and creates a brilliant opportunity for me to show what I can do in the Championship.
“I have played in lots of different positions, but I’m now mainly a centre back. I’m a technical player on the ball and I like to defend. There is a lot of work for us to in the second half of the season and it’s important that we win as many games as possible.”
