Four wins from six games and a current position of fourth in the FA Women’s Championship has not saved Chris Phillips’ position at London City Lionesses.

Phillips had managed Millwall Lionesses last season before the London City breakaway and this term had only seen his side beaten by the leading two teams in the division.

Interim boss will be the club’s head of player development, John Bayer, who was once caretaker manager for Arsenal Women and led their Centre of Excellence to The FA Girls’ Youth Cup success.
