London City Lionesses’ first new signing for the 2020/21 FA Women’s Championship season is midfielder Alli Murphy from Icelandic side UMF Sefloss.

Commenting on Murphy’s arrival, Head Coach Lisa Fallon told londoncitylionesses.com: “First and foremost, Alli is a fantastic person. Energy, passion and enthusiasm just radiate from her and I know she will be a brilliant addition to our squad.

“She has played at the highest level in the United States and has experienced playing in tough European leagues also.”

Born and raised in Texas, Murphy was Texas Tech University MVP in 2015 and the following year – her first season as a professional player – she helped Washington Spirit to second place in the NWSL.

Before joining UMF Sefloss, Murphy had spells with Houston Dash, Swedish Division One side Gustavs GolF and PEC Zwolle in the Netherlands.

On arrival in London, Murphy said: “I can’t wait to get to Princes Park and start training with the rest of the London City Lionesses. I’m excited for the direction the club is going and the ambitions the coaching staff has for this team. I’m a competitor at heart and I can’t wait to get started.”
