London City Lionesses moved level on points with Barclays Women’s Championship leaders Birmingham City with a late goal at Sheffield United.

The result lifted them above Charlton Athletic into second place, while the Blades remain three points off the bottom after one win in their opening eight matches.

Sheffield went close to taking the lead just before the break, Emily Orman’s clearance only going to Erin Molloy but her effort was narrowly wide of the upright.

The decisive moment came from a Kosovare Asllani free kick, with Georgia Brougham getting to the ball first to head home.
