Lois Roche and Hannah Godfrey are to depart Charlton Athletic when their contracts expire at the end of December.

Midfielder Roche (30) joined Charlton in the summer of 2021 from Norwegian side Røa IL, becoming one of the Addicks’ first full-time professional female players.

Starting her senior career with Reading, for whom she made 67 appearances for Reading, Toche also had spells at Åland United and CF Florentia.

Head Coach Karen Hills told charltonafc.com: “I would like to give my biggest thanks to Lois for her time at Charlton. Lois has been a great positive character to have around both on and off the pitch during her time at the club, and I wish her the very best for what’s next in her footballing career.”

Hannah Godfrey, a 26-year-old defender and vice-captain for last season, also signed in time to be part of the club’s first fully-professional women’s team.

Hills commented: “I would like to wish Hannah all the very best going forward. She has worked so hard in getting back to full fitness after suffering an ACL injury last year and I look forward to seeing Hannah back on the pitch doing what she loves.”
