Liverpool are reportedly closing in on the signing of Swedish winger Alice Bergstrom from BK Hacken.
Liverpool “agree” move for Alice Bergstrom
Swedish publication Aftonbladet have reported that Liverpool are close to making Alice Bergstrom their first signing of the January transfer window.
All parties have reportedly agreed to the move, though nothing has been signed as yet.
However, it is expected that Liverpool’s move for the 22-year-old could be made official in the coming days.
The move would see Bergstrom join forces with Sweden teammates Beata Olsson and Cornelia Kapocs at the Merseyside club.
Who is Alice Bergstrom?
Bergstrom is a 22-year-old winger who can also play in midfield and has, on occasion, played at right-back.
She has spent her entire career in Sweden, playing for Tyreso, Alvsjo AIK FF, Djurgarden and BK Hacken.
Bergstrom joined BK Hacken in December 2023 and has scored 14 goals in 69 appearances.
The talented winger has represented Sweden’s youth teams but not yet been awarded her first senior cap.
She is not the only player who could be leaving Sweden for the WSL in the January window.

Tottenham are pushing to sign Norwegian international Julie Blakstad from Hammarby.
Blakstad previously played in the WSL for current league leaders Manchester City.
Arsenal have also been linked with Swedish right-back Smilla Holmberg, who also currently plays for Hammarby.
Liverpool keen to strengthen squad
Liverpool head coach Gareth Taylor will be desperate to strengthen his squad after a miserable first-half to the campaign.
The Reds sit bottom of the WSL standings after failing to take a win from the first-half of the season.
Pressure is mounting on Taylor in the aftermath of Liverpool’s crushing 9-1 defeat to Chelsea in the Women’s League Cup.
After the loss to Chelsea, Taylor admitted that he faces a tough challenge at Liverpool.
He also said that the club have identified targets for the January window.
Taylor said: “We’ve identified targets we want to bring to the club, of course, but I don’t think it’s something that’s going to be able to flick a switch and change.
“There needs to be probably a lot of improvements and probably getting to the summer, retaining our status [in the top flight] is going to be really, really important because then that allows you to be able to do more.
“I think you’re limited with the amount of players you can bring in during this January window as well, it’s quite limited in that sense. With all of the injuries we have, I’d love to bring in what Chelsea probably have, a second starting eleven.”
