Leyton Orient moved to within two points of the FA WPL South East Division 1 top spot with a big midweek win at bottom of the table Haringey Borough.

Tuesday 7th November
FA WOMEN’S PREMIER LEAGUE
SOUTH EAST DIVISION 1
Haringey Borough 0-8 Leyton Orient (Att: 26)

Sophie Le Marchand won a penalty after just 5 minutes for Orient and Danielle Griffiths stepped up to successfully convert it.

It was a bad start for a Haringey side who had lost all eight games in their short Premier League history so far but they held out until the half-hour before conceding a second, when the ball dropped for Egle Trezzi to volley home.

Three goals in 4 minutes before the break then ended the match as a contest, with Kayleigh Xidhas, Francesca Cagetti and Sarka Stryhalova all scoring.

After the interval, Le Marchand scored twice and Stryhalova lobbed in number eight, to repeat the scoreline between the sides last month.

While Haringey now host a crucial bottom of the table clash with Norwich City this Sunday, Orient are on SSE WFA Cup duty away at Ipswich Town.
