The second round of matches at the La Manga U-19 Tournament on Saturday saw England thrash China 5-1, Scotland go down to a 4-1 defeat to the Netherlands and Spain get all three goals of the game with Switzerland.
The Young Lionesses scored both 7 minutes before and after the break, extending the lead to 4-0 and although China reduced the arrears, England got a fifth. Ebony Salmon and substitute Lauren James were among the scorers.
Netherlands scored twice in each half as Scotland lost out 4-1. Naomi Hilhorst, Kerstin Casparij and Jonna van de Velde struck for the Dutch, then Jamie-Lee Napier pulled a goal back on 68 minutes, before a second for Hilhorst completed the scoring.
Spain were ahead through Claudia Pina on 25 minutes against the Swiss, their second goal coming on the hour mark from Nerea Eizaguirre, followed with a late third by Rosa Márquez. But the victory was marred by the news that Marta Nolasco ruptured a cruciate ligament of the knee.
The final round of games are on Monday.
